Consistent Effort

Consistent Effort

If you make more progress than you thought you would, don't compensate by slowing down. You're doing great, so raise your expectations even higher and keep going strong.

If you fail to make as much progress as you had planned, don't get discouraged. Remind yourself of why you're making the effort, and re-commit to getting it done.

Consistent, purposeful effort will reliably bring the results you seek. On some days you'll move faster than on other days, yet every day you'll keep going forward.

Never forget that there is great power in small actions that are repeated again and again. Though the path may be long and winding and uneven, by continuing to put one foot in front of the other, you'll reach your destination.

Celebrate the small victories and learn from the small defeats. Then, keep on moving steadily toward the goal you've chosen.
Put the power of consistent effort to work. And each day, you'll bring new value to life.

My favorite Poem

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the
sand,
is when I carried you.”

Happy B-Day Bob Marley!!!

Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) was born Feb. 6, 1945 in Nine Mile, Jamaica. In 1957, Bob's mother Cedella moved him from Nine Miles to live in Kingston. Cedella came to the Jamaican capital in search of work and excitement. They moved into Trenchtowns. Trenchtown: Spiritual Powerpoint for the Rastafarians. Trenchtown had now become the main home in Kingston for the strange tribe of men known as Rastafarians, who had set up an encampment down by the Dungle in the early years of World War II. The Wailers, which represented more than their style of singing. The name also reflected the pain and anguish the boys felt deep within their souls while growing up in Trench Town. Bob's mother, Cedella, had remarried and moved to the United States where she saved money to send her son an air ticket. She wanted Bob to start a new life. But before he moved to America, Bob met a girl named Rita Anderson and, on February 10, 1966, they were married. Bob found the Rastafarian movement interesting. And in 1967 Bob's music reflected his new beliefs. Gone were the Rude Boy anthems; in their place was a growing commitment to spiritual and social issues, the cornerstone of his real legacy's music reflected his new beliefs. In 1977, Bob hurt a toe while playing football. The wound had become cancerous and was belatedly treated in Miami, yet it continued to fester. By 1980 the cancer, in its most virulent form, had begun to spread through Marley's body. He fought the disease for eight months, taking treatment at the clinic of Dr. Joseph Issels in Bavaria. Issels' treatment was controversial and non-toxic and, for a time anyway, Bob's condition seemed to stabilise. Eventually, however, the battle proved too much. At the start of May Bob Marley left Germany for his Jamaican home, a journey he did not complete. He died in a Miami hospital on Monday May 11, 1981

My Babies

I have two of the most wonderful kitties I could ever ask for. They are might pride and joy!! I got Layla when I lived by myself before I met Erik and her and I have always been close. When I wake up in the morning she hopes up on the bed and sits next to me until I walk into the bathroom where she follows me and she drinks out of the sink why I shower. Everytime I have my Favorite blanket on she is always right next to me giving me loves. She is very adventurous and very loving.

Erik and I got Suhn last April. I have always want a calico orange & white girl kitty but I could never find one so we settled for a boy. Suhn is more Erik's cat (I think it must be a guy thing). Suhn loves to go outside and sleeps lots. He loves Layla so very much you would think that they are brother & sister the way they take care of each other.

Our life would not be the same with out our babies and we are very lucky to have them!

New Year's Eve

We had such a fun New Year's eve this year. We decided to have a little party at the house. It is so much safer to stay home than go out. So Candace, Heather, Greg, Martha and her clan stopped by before going out to the club and just before the new year Carolyn and my brother in law (Gavin) all came over. We had some snacks made some drinks and laughed so hard. Candace, Heather & Greg slept over and I was thankful for that cause I would never want anything to happen to them and you never know who is driving drunk. The next morning we all woke up and the party started again LOL the boys started playing poker and us girl's made breakfast that took us 3 house to make LOL I think we kept getting distracted.

New Year's day was very relaxing after everyone left Erik & I took a nap and then headed over to Heather & Greg's for dinner which was sooo awesome!!! I really enjoyed the beginning of the New Year and can't wait to see what this year has to bring.

You know your a 90's kid if....

You're a 90's kid if:
You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"
"You remember TGIF on ABC and wouldn't miss it
Down down baby down down the roller coaster sweet sweet baby Ill never let you go..chimie chie cocoa puffs chimmie chimmie rock, chimmie chimiie cocoa puffs chimmie chimmie rock.....
You remember when Kurt Cobain, 2Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.
You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
You begged for some GAK, and when you got that they came out with scented GAK, and when you got that they came out with funny scented GAK.....
You remember reading "Goosebumps"
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
You danced to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot ***-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)
You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.....
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...
You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record "Your FAVORITE song of ALL time"....with a tape recorder held up to the radio LOL!!
Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.
You remember when super nintendo's became popular.
You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.
You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders""
I've fallen and I can't get up"

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and talking Elmo were always sold out.
You used to wear those stick on earrings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.
You remember a time before the WB.
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
You know the Macarena by heart.
"Talk to the hand" ... enough said
You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!
"When we were younger:
Before the MySpace frenzy...
Before the Internet & text messaging...
Before Sidekicks & iPods...Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX......
Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
When light up sneakers were cool.
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.
When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.
When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.
Way back. Before we realized all this would eventually disappear
Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!
